"Matched" by Ally Condie autumn read

Autumn is a bloggers best friend and worst nightmare. You'll have plenty of inspiration to blog and absolutely no time to take photos in natural daylight. Now that I am done complaining, let's get on with the review we don't really need photos for.

This is the first book in the Matched series and is about a girl named Cassia, who is living in a insane government controlled world. They decide when and what you eat, they read your dreams, they control who you you should marry and when you're going to die. If that isn't enough to draw you in I don't know what will because it gave me the chills. I decided to give this a go after reading the Divergent series last year, and found it to be similar, at least the government controlling is similar.

First of, the book is only about 400 pages normal writing, so it doen't take long to get through it. It's plot is better then it's written and I feel like this idea should've been given to Veronica Roth or Suzanne Collins, cause the writing didn't exactly thrill me. It's a very cliche that she goes for the bad boy and starts doubting and going against what she always thought was right due to a boy.

Even though the writing isn't spectacular, it's a relaxing read, it get exiting towards the end and although predictable surprisingly thrilling to read. It kept me on to read book two, so I don't think it's a massive fail, just very average.

I gave this a 3/5 on goodreads, I liked it, it was completely OK.

  1. Well, sounds like a really interesting read. The government in this novel is really overbearing. Yikes! :]

    1. After getting halfway trough the second book I think it's a much better book, but the first is necessary to understand the second <3
